This UK national lottery-funded service, hosted by EDINA, is part of the Great Britain Historical GIS project. It provides 'a vision of Britain between 1801 and 2001' including historical mapping, statistical atlases, census reports, historical British travel writing, and learning resources. Locations can be searched by categories such as: population; life and death; industry; work and poverty; social class; housing; learning and language; roots and religion. Information is represented graphically and as descriptive text.
