Scottish Vacant and Derelict Land Survey (SVDLS)

The annual SVDLS has been operating since 1988. It is a co-operative venture between local authorities and the Scottish Government Development Department and is undertaken to establish the extent and state of vacant and derelict land in, or close to, urban areas and derelict land throughout Scotland. Charts and tables include: Vacant and derelict land by Local Authority Area; Derelict land as a percentage of Local Authority Administrative Area; Ownership of vacant and derelict land; Contamination status of vacant and derelict land; Previous uses of vacant and derelict sites; Sources of funding used for vacant and derelict land brought back into use since the last survey, by Local Authority Area.
