Since 1998 the UK funding bodies have worked together to provide indicators of the performance of higher education institutions in the 4 home countries. These are now gathered by HESA. Indicators include: participation of under-represented groups in higher education; non-continuation following year of entry; projected learning outcomes and efficiencies; employment indicators; mature entrants to full-time first degree courses by subject and entry qualifications; percentage from state school by subject and entry qualifications; percentage from low participation neighbourhood by subject and entry qualifications. Time-series aggregate statistics; some time-series begin 2000/2001, while most begin 2008/2009. Earlier statistics are available from the Higher Education Funding Council for England.
Tables are provided in downloadable Excel files, and in some cases also in Adobe PDF format.
Some HESA data are freely available on the internet.
Fuller data can be accessed through the HEIDI interface.
