Jisc MediaPlus

Film and Sound Online was a JISC-funded service to provide access to collections of film and video, hosted by Alexander Street and cleared and digitised by the Principal Investigators. The content has now been moved to Jisc MediaPlus . The films are of high quality, are fully downloadable (either in full or as segments), and can be used freely in learning, teaching and research. Film and Sound OnLine offers a broad range of moving image content relevant to teachers and students in many different study areas, such as British and European history, media studies, archaeology, performing arts, music, medical, health and life sciences.

A small number of medical and surgical titles are restricted to medical departments only, due to issues of content sensitivity or patient confidentiality.

Collections include Educational and Television Films Ltd (ETV), Films of Scotland, Anglia Television Library, Sheffield University Learning Media Unit Collection, The Trials of Alger Hiss (1980), St George's Hospital Medical School Collection, Healthcare Productions, Logic Lane, Imperial War Museum and IWF Knowledge & Media GmbH, Biochemical Society, Culverhouse Classical Music, Digital Himalaya, Open University Worldwide, Performance Shakespeare.
