Funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) the MEASURE DHS (Demographic and Health Surveys) project has provided technical assistance to more than 240 surveys in over 85 countries collecting and disseminating nationally representative data on fertility, family planning, maternal and child health, gender, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and nutrition. Freely available data resources include: STATcompiler (quick facts and country comparisons); STATmapper (creates maps from STATcompiler data in more than 75 countries); HIV/AIDS Survey Indicators Database; HIV Spatial Data Repository; Malaria Indicator Surveys; plus the MEASURE DHS Survey Datasets. There's also a range of free downloadable publications  including final reports, comparative and analytical reports, as well as papers, other research documents.
