The UK Data Archive (based at the University of Essex) is a large-scale repository of social sciences, humanities and large-scale government datasets. The UKDA is supported by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Joint Information Systems Committee (Jisc). Founded in 1967, it houses several thousand datasets of interest to researchers in all sectors and from many different disciplines. The Economic and Social Data Service (ESDS) in now part of the UK Data Archive.
